{"id":14783,"date":"2013-02-26T18:23:33","date_gmt":"2013-02-26T18:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/?p=14783"},"modified":"2017-03-01T18:22:33","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T18:22:33","slug":"premiere-alev-lenz-song-no-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/2013\/02\/26\/premiere-alev-lenz-song-no-1\/","title":{"rendered":"PREMIERE:  Alev Lenz &#8211; &#8220;Song No 1&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We premiere German-born, London-dwelling singer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alevlenz.com\">Alev Lenz<\/a>&#8216;s beautiful new stop motion video, produced in collaboration with make-up artist extraodinare <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isamayaffrench.com\">Isamaya Ffrench<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/59677466\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lenz is blessed with the kind of hauntingly wistful voice that puts her in the same happy league as Lykki Li and Feist &#8211; and in this video, she makes a pretty good blank canvas for the work of make-up artist and body painter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isamayaffrench.com\">Isamaya Ffrench<\/a> too. <\/p>\n<p>Since upping sticks from Germany and heading for London&#8217;s bright lights, Lenz has been making moves in all the right directions, working with Jas from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simianmobiledisco.co.uk\">Simian Mobile Disco<\/a> and hooking up (production-wise, at least) with quietly brilliant drummer Samuli Kosminen (M\u00fam, Kronos Quartet, J\u00f3nsi). The heads  behind ultra-discerning indie broadcaster <a href=\"http:\/\/ntslive.co.uk\/\">NTS Radio<\/a> were so impressed, they even invited her to host her own show.
