Overall I&#8217;m inspired by crushing taboos and causing a conversation about what I consider to be the oppression of misrepresented groups including women and homosexuals. I&#8217;m about a lot more than just twerking<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are you currently working on?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m answering these questions from my hotel in the midst of my European tour, making sure my mixtape is just right and ready, and talking to some high profile filmmakers about some beautiful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/BrookeCandyOfficial\">videos<\/a> I have in the works. Big shit on the way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One of our fave Brooke Candy moments is at the end of the <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/dHULK1M-P08\">Das Me video<\/a>, where you walk a little Asian toddler down Rodeo Drive. How&#8217;d that happen? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We were looking at the women who shop on Rodeo Drive, where we shot the video, and discussing the commentary of conspicuous spending, and came up with the concept of using a human as the ultimate accessory, making a mockery of these women who think it&#8217;s fashionable to <\/p>\n<div ><\/div>\n<p> adopt a foreign child as a statement, plus the visual was pretty fuckin cool<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_6771-e1361557483650.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_6771-e1361557483650.jpg\" alt=\"Brooke Candy performs in London at XOYO gig\" title=\"Brooke Candy performs in London at XOYO gig\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14172\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Describe your style in three words.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bold, post-apocalyptic, cute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When did you start rapping? What&#8217;s your writing process?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been rapping for a long time but only started taking it seriously in the last couple years. My subject matter usually revolves around busting double standards or taboos. Or just shit that I&#8217;ve been through.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s your favourite places to shop?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Slauson Swapmeet in LA is a good place to get fun cool little shit, but most of my clothes are custom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What would be your dream collaboration?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have a verse, Biggie has a verse, and Amy Winehouse sings the hook.
