With legendary producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) on board, we\u2019d be surprised if they didn\u2019t explode in a big way next year. <em>Wonderland<\/em> chats to lead vocalist and guitarist Sam Fry. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Life-in-Film-4.jpeg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Life-in-Film-4-e1348236432471.jpeg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Life in Film \" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ve found such a great producer. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yeah, it\u2019s happy days really! We got our new EP out on <a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/album\/needles-pins-ep\/id553177997)\">iTunes<\/a> a couple of weeks ago and we\u2019ve had a really good response, so we\u2019re really pleased about that. And then we\u2019re gradually going to release everything that we\u2019ve recorded. Now that we\u2019ve started, things will be moving a lot quicker. I guess it\u2019s just that initial \u2013 trying to establish, get everything out how you want it to sound, because the music is the most important thing, at the end of the day. <\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k_UvMb781nM\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>You worked with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.katemoross.com\/\">Kate Moross<\/a> on two videos, including your latest one &#8211; how was that?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s cool man, she\u2019s great. She\u2019s really got a lot of enthusiasm for what she does and a lot of good ideas. If someone\u2019s excited about your ideas, they can develop them and think of ways of achieving them, ways that we haven\u2019t thought of. Particularly for that \u2018The Idiot\u2019 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a3KIqrzuZZY\">video<\/a>. It\u2019s a really simple concept, but she could hear in the song that it\u2019s got a slightly mechanical feel; it\u2019s very regimented, the way it works through, and then she came up with that concept of repeating snippets, almost like factory-line style. Lyrically it\u2019s about being caught in a trap, going round in circles in a relationship, so it all tied together really nicely and we\u2019re really pleased with that video. She\u2019s done our new one as well &#8211; she was excited about the idea of using such a small space, \u2018cos that was just our rehearsal room. There\u2019s that transitional shot, you can see we\u2019re all in the room and it\u2019s all exactly how we rehearse \u2013 to get across where we write, and how we go about playing music. We\u2019re really pleased with how it came out. <\/p>\n<p><strong>You guys did the Burberry Acoustic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D-KtEBsFcuI\">campaign<\/a> &#8211; what was that like?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Christopher Bailey first got in contact with me, he said do I want to do a shoot for the autumn\/winter campaign, which was pretty out of the blue. When I got there, there was William Gold from the Golden Silvers who\u2019s also done one of the acoustic things on Dave Tree\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/watchlistentell\">Watch Listen Tell<\/a>, so that was pretty cool. I\u2019d never done any modelling for things, it was a bit overwhelming! I was like, &#8220;What am I doing here?!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there an album on the cards pretty soon?<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Definitely. That\u2019s going to come out early next year. We\u2019re going put out some more music this year and then ultimately the album next year.
