Gazelle Twin Promo

If Tune Yards had a love affair with The Knife, one imagines the resulting sonic creation wouldn’t be far removed from the almost unclassifiable music of Gazelle Twin. The moniker of Brit producer, composer and musician Elizabeth Bernholz, Gazelle Twin produces sounds that strip back the identifying tricks of electro and pop, collating them over industrial bass and unctuous, oozing synth tracks.  It’s instinctually astringent, buffered by her breathy, sexy vocals and garage influenced beats that will raise your heart rate and leave the hairs standing up on the back of your neck. Frankly, here at Wonderland we can’t get enough.

Following a bunch of much-hyped taster releases over the last year Gazelle Twin is finally releasing her anticipated second LP UNFLESH on September 22nd, via her own label, Anti-Ghost Moon Ray. Described by Bernholz as ‘autobiographical purging’ of sorts it also touches on topics as diverse as euthanasia, European colonisation and people raised by animals. We’ve had a listen, and can assure it delivers the desired brilliance on all counts.

In honour of the drop we asked Gazelle Twin to make us a playlist of songs about ‘walking through the city’. Check it out below.
