TEED – aka Orlando Higginbottom – is now one of the biggest DJs on the vanguard of the house music revival. And as this tour video shows, he’s not going to let some tropical storm mess with his dance game. Plus, we’re giving away copies of his new remixes album, Get Lost VI.

Most musicians don’t expect to play New York in the middle of a tropical storm, but that’s basically the situation TEED found himself in during the Governor’s Ball earlier this year. Luckily, the London DJ was also playing in the only sheltered tent, which meant his extravagant stage costume (involving gold roses, a shimmery waterproof and a fringed golden cape Karen O would be proud of) escaped the rain unscathed.

“It was a proper muddy festival, like we do in the UK, ” he says approvingly. He even demonstrates his signature dance move, the soft diva palm (think Mariah with one hand out, mid-glissando), which is probably the gayest and simultaneously most endearing thing we’ve ever seen a DJ do. Sorry, Seth Troxler.

We can’t promise you a pair of Higginbottom’s custom Soft Diva Palm Nikes, but we are giving away five copies of his new album with Crosstown Rebels, Get Lost VI – the sixth volume in the infamous Get Lost series, which specialises in obscure tracks and rarities (plus, our men’s director Andrew Davis designed the cover). It’s a double disc compilation stacked with cutting edge house and techno, all curated by TEED, and includes an exclusive track made by him with Eats Everything.
