In the second instalment of “The Story of Things” Scotch & Soda take us east, following a brother, Oscar’s journey through memories and trinkets.

“Travelling is more than the seeing of sights and collecting is more than putting things on a shelf,” our narrator, Lola tells us before we relive the moment of her brother’s favourite memory, leaping into a lake from a cliffside. We’ve got serious holiday envy, sat grumbling in a cold corner of Notting Hill at Wonderland HQ. If you’re as envious as us, you can rent Lola’s Amsterdam apartment on Airbnb and Scotch & Soda will customise your wardrobe while you stay.

What better place to watch Scotch & Soda’s new film than from a barge boat, under a bridge, within the maze-like waterways of Amsterdam. For a brand born in Holland, with their roots firmly anchored within the realm of travel, adventure and the allurement of the unknown, it seemed a most fitting location.

“The Story of Things, Part 1: North”  documents the journey of an object, one that has seen the world, crossed the paths of many people, keeping hundreds of secrets within its entity. A Sheffield razor blade is exchanged from the hands of a barber in a small town in the North of Italy, to the hands of two disparate travellers, Zaria and Charlie. The film follows their spontaneous journeys, their lust for exploring the world and the beauty of different perspectives.

It’s these values that capture the spirit of Scotch & Soda. A brand known for their assured, yet considered, sense of style, Scotch & Soda’s collections are fine-tuned with a focus on finishings, to be worn by the city-dweller, the globe trotter or the modern adventurer. The film chooses not to feature on a specific collection, rather the mood and DNA of the brand – from archive pieces to current season.
