The Glory is opening its doors to the theatre crowd as its first ever play, Suddenly Last Summer by Tennessee Williams, is set to run in the basement this month. Promising “lobotomy, lunacy and low-lying sodomy” as its USPs, we’ve already bought our tickets. Wondering what a New Orleans play, re-set in Spain and staged in the East End might look like? This could well be your only chance to find out and with only 35 guests per performance, you’ll be part of an exclusive club in the know.

A mixture of the original script and the 1959 film adaptation, The Glory’s version stars two of its four owners, Jonny Woo and John Sizzle as well as Princess Julia. Direction comes from Giorgio Spiegelfeld and Max Allen takes charge of art direction and sound and film elements come from East London visual artist Jeffrey Hinton. The play opens on 20th of July and tickets are available now from Ticketweb.
