Sticking to his boxy minimalist style, head designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, created the dream collection for all the ladies out there who want to don a suit in a conventional way. Softening the uniform with caramel like colours and bright whites for the Resort 16 collection, titled ‘Valerie,’ Jacquemus contrasted them with more traditional tones. Classic pinstripes have been given a new lease of life on capes and half-shirt, half-dress like creations and the oversized boyfriend blazer flashes just the right amount of leg. The colour pallet is simple, Jacquemus doesn’t steer away from whites, blues, blacks and caramel, but rightly so.

The collection could be added into an everyday wardrobe but is still statement enough to get noticed for all the right reasons. The pieces are understatedly sexy, not over complicated but also not coy. We’re lusting over the businesslike tie dress, – structured to look like a suit – this dress is, however, all woman. Something for the confident modern woman, this collection is all about letting your shape do the talking.
