So Prometheus premieres tonight – excited, much? We’re positively beside ourselves: Michael Fassbender teams up with Alien franchise-brainchild Ridely Scott for the saga’s seventh and very possibly heaviest-hyped entry. Here are seven reasons to testi-punch your way through the crowds to stroke Fass’s silky, moulded face in London’s Leicester Square.

(1) The trailer…

…which clearly mimicks the orginal’s dinge-y, two minute excerpt.

(2) Michael Fassbender.

Shame, Hunger and 2008’s restlessly bleak Eden Lake painted Fasbender as this generation’s Willem Dafoe: method-y, utterly committed, talented and totally unafraid.

(3) Walter Hill

Responsible for cult classics Southern Comfort, The Drowning Pool and 48hrs, Walter Hill needs no introduction. Other than he’s called Walter Hill, he directed a few episodes of HBO’s brilliant Deadwood, and produced the first of the Alien saga.

(4) Guy Pearce

Two words: Animal Kingdom. Stunningly acted, moving, horrid.

(5) Idris Elba

Stringer Bell ffs…

(6) Charlize Theron

A serious Hollywood actress, Theron was demented in The Devil’s Advocate, endearing in The Legend of Bagger Vance and bravely mishapen for her Oscar-winning role in Monster.

(7) Naomi Rapace

Rapace’s understated performance as Daniel Craig’s wife in last year’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
