Fashionista’s have always traditionally looked to London, Paris and New York to get their fix, but there’s a new contender – half way across the world.

Online retailer Cocosa – which has a team of international buyers tasked with keeping track of current trends – says it has experienced an explosion of interest in designers from Down Under. Labels such as Carla Zampatti and Alex Perry-who has dressed the likes of Miranda Kerr, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez in his couture evening numbers – are showing real demand. Carla Zampatti is currently celebrating her 50th anniversary working in the fashion industry. Showing no sign of plans for retirement, she is currently expanding her retail chain of 26 boutiques and concept stores across Australia.

Carla’s designs are a fusion of her Italian and Australian heritage and ooze sophistication. She is known for her classic statement pieces, sharp, clean-cut lines, and use of luxe fabrics. Understated brands are shining through too, with new alternative brand Bec & Bridge, as well as many others, on the brink of being discovered internationally. Bec & Bridge evoke a chic, contemporary style that boasts sleek silhouettes confidently paired with fresh, revitalising colour palettes.

A spokesperson for Cocosa explains: “Australian brands have entered a new era and a number of inspiring and innovative designers are now firmly established on the world stage. These are labels that every woman who loves cutting-edge fashion will want to know about.”These three labels in particular “all [have] the hallmarks that you would expect from classic well-established brands, whilst offering a refreshing change from what traditional designers have to offer.”

Lucky for us, Cocosa offer easy access to these brands worldwide, as well as discounts of up to 80% off for luxury items from all over the world (not just Australia!) and hold daily flash sales on women’s and men’s fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty and vintage items and lifestyle goods. The site also regularly features another of Australia’s most famous brands: Ksubi and Sportcraft.  Ksubi is current and fresh, famed for its popular range of distressed jeans and unique tees; in encompassing art, music and fashion have the brand has built a loyal cult following. Sportscraft is renowned for its casual style, founder Woolf Bardas’ vision was inspired by the Australian way of life and his love of sport, as well as a passion for craftsmanship, quality fabrics and a good cut.

Bardas explains the ethos of the brand: “It’s freedom with no boundaries. It embraces sport, activity, adventure, salty seas and the pulse of life.” Cocosa has rejoiced the increasing importance of the online world, especially when it comes to fashion, and its facilitation in connecting style-conscious consumers to great designers regardless of international borders.
