London foursome Citizens! came onto the scene in 2010 and brought their exclamation mark with them. It would have been added naturally anyway, so really they just saved us all some time over the last five years. Signed to the superbly chic music label/fashion label Kitsuné, they found fame with their debut album ‘Here We Are’ in 2012 and came with the message: “pop is not a dirty word, it’s a holy one!” Agreed.

Expect their second album to appear later this spring. Their single ‘Lighten Up’, comes with an interactive video by Focus Creeps that’s available to experience on their website, where you use your spacebar to tap to the beat and unlock exclusive content. Today, we premiere a remix by Ceasare to kick start your week.

Signed to Kitsuné and produced by Alex Kapranos, CITIZENS! were crowned as one of the summer’s most exciting bands the minute they sold out a three-week residency at London’s Ridley Road Market Bar.

The art-pop band’s latest video sees them step aside in favour of hot couples making out in death-defying situations. Think cornershop riots, car chases and clifftop kisses – and all in glorious slo-mo. So pucker up (just remember, no tongues allowed on the first date).
