The Burberry campaign this Christmas season is a fully star-studded celebration of, and gloriously festive tribute to, everyone’s favourite miners-strike-with-ballet film: Billy Elliot. Yep, to mark the 15^th Anniversary of the BAFTA winning movie, Burberry have made a short campaign video based on the film’s much-loved opening sequence. It features an all-British cast including Elton John (who any Billy fan worth their salt will know wrote the score for the musical), Julie Walters – who starred in the original film as Mrs Wilkinson, the ballet teacher – and then a whole load of other big names like James Cordon, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Naomi Campbell, George Ezra and even pint-size fashionisto, Romeo Beckham.

The short film, which will premiere tonight at Burberry’s Regent Street store and will then be shared across all the brand’s media platforms at 7pm, was directed by Christopher Bailey, who explained that, “Billy Elliot is an incredible film full of so much joy and energy, so it was a real thrill and a great honour to be able to celebrate its 15 year anniversary through our Festive campaign. It was a huge privilege to work with such amazing and iconic British talent – the cast are quite simply some of the biggest named in film, music and fashion and it was so much fun working with them all to make this special film.
