We head to Silverstone with Louis Vuitton before rounding up the latest fashion, beauty and design drops defining the week, from JW Anderson’s Paris adventure to Chloé’s latest campaign starring Alexa Chung.

Listen, my girlfriends have been telling me a thing or two about F1 fever. Over the past few years, it’s spread like a plague, slowly but surely contaminating the masses and recruiting high-stakes propagandists to its cause. These are people I trust, people I look up to. But when they told me I should consider spending huge chunks of my sacred Sundays staring at cars speeding around a track, I wondered whether they imagined I’d been a Hot Wheels kind of kid. I simply didn’t see the appeal. But when an invitation from Louis Vuitton landed in my inbox, offering me a day at Britain’s very own Grand Prix in Silverstone, I thought: maybe the joke’s on me. Maybe I’m the one missing out. It was time to give the F1 boys a chance. And what a time was had.
Walking through the boujee corners of the paddock, slowly being indoctrinated by drivers so passionate about their sport that they become glorified poster boys for newcomers like myself, eager to answer all my (they say there are no stupid questions, but there often are) stupid questions, I experienced something close to a cathartic awakening. As the event’s official sponsor — and the maker of the deliciously opulent trunk that carries the winner’s trophy (this year’s champion being Ferrari’s Monegasque driver, Charles Leclerc) — Louis Vuitton gave me a front-row seat to a realisation that hit much closer to home. Much like fashion, motorsport is built on craftsmanship. It’s the almost obsessive attention to detail. The tightly controlled environments. The reverence for the human hand. The battalion of unsung warriors working towards a single goal. There is no such thing as a one-man show. Turns out, I’m a victim of the plague too. Who’s joining me for the ride?
