EZI, the acclaimed American singer-songwriter and actress, has returned to the music scene with the second half of her debut album, “Into Your Power, Into The Light”. “‘Into Your Power, Into The Light’ is my debut album,” EZI shares. “This album is a collection of songs I wrote over the years that were the most special to me. It’s a concept album that explores what it’s like to step into who you are and the light you experience on the other side of that journey. In so many ways, releasing this project is life imitating art. I wrote them when I was in an incredibly dark place. I used these songs to explore the darker corners of my mind and life and come to terms with who I am.”
The first part of the album, Into Your Power, was deeply influenced by a painful breakup, exploring themes of heartbreak and vulnerability. This second part, however, represents rebirth and resilience—an artist standing tall after weathering life’s storms.
A standout track, “Impulses”, acts as the transition from darkness to light. It’s a reflective piece, urging listeners to ground themselves and reconnect with the humanity behind the artist’s crafted image.
The album also includes “Something Like You”, an older track that delves into discovering hidden feelings, and “Dear California”, a heartfelt love letter to Los Angeles. This track recounts EZI’s early struggles in the city, where she faced uncertainty yet found fertile ground to grow her talent and chase her dreams.
The album concludes with “Field of Dreams”, which EZI describes as “the queerest song on the record.” This anthem of liberation celebrates finding one’s place in the world, shedding fear and judgment, and embracing life with open arms.
With “Into Your Power, Into The Light”, EZI marks a clear evolution in her career, solidifying her identity as an artist, vocalist, and activist. Her powerful storytelling and presence on digital platforms reflect not just her talent, but her growth as a person committed to authenticity and connection.
