Get The Look: Sabrina Carpenter "Taste"

Wonderland

SHORT N’ SWEET

Squeamish moments, a cheeky kiss with Jenna Ortega, infectious tunes — Sabrina Carpenter is (literally) killing it with the release of her new album. But can we talk about her glam?

Happy Sabrina Carpenter Day to all who celebrate! The star’s latest album, Short n’ Sweet, is finally out, and just when we thought the singer was done making us scream for her mercy, she drops the first music video from the project for “Taste” and… we lost it once again.

Sabrina is clearly trying to convey some messages to her fans. Guess what? It turns out she’s not the straightest woman to ever live — following a flood of memes that inundated our feeds when she last released a music video earlier this year with then-beau Barry Keoghan for “Please, Please, Please”. Whether the couple is still together is up in the air, but fans can’t ignore the fact that a bear appearing in the first five seconds of the music video has its mouth shut-and-sealed with a kissed tape we last saw in… you guessed it, Barry’s mouth.

This time ‘round, her love interest in “Taste” is none other than Wednesday star Jenna Ortega — what a cast, Miss Sabrina. Or, at least for a couple of seconds. The clip is a classic saga of a love-gone-sour dynamic, as the blonde-brunette duo engage in a beyond-squeamish fight over a man who, well, ends up dead, while they walk away together, reflecting on his personality traits and sipping on iced coffees. Girlhood in a nutshell, and we love to see it.

The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, is a hilarious, graphic, Tarantino-esque treat for fans, and the perfect offering to wrap release day on an impressive note. Short n’ Sweet is Carpenter’s sixth album, an infectious body of work destined for the big charts. And besides the musical excellence, we can’t help but hold tight to one specific detail from Sabrina’s new chapter — her immaculate glam. For months now, the singer-songwriter’s makeup looks have been going viral all over social media, and the visuals of “Taste” are, once again, a moment for us to get inspired by.

Brown lips, impeccably bouncy blowouts, sharp eyeliners, rosy cheeks… Sabrina isn’t following trends; she’s creating her own — so demure and cutesy, we’re here for it. So keep scrolling for the ultimate Sabrina Carpenter-approved makeup products.

Sabrina’s official lip combo? A brown lip. In the music video for “Taste,” we see the star applying a Prada lipstick, which the internet suspects to be Monochrome Soft Matte Refillable Lipstick in “Tonka.” Using a knife as her mirror, of course. Iconic!

Jenna, you’re making us blush!

There’s no Sabrina Carpenter without her baby-flushed cheeks. The secret for perfect application is to focus the product right on the apple of your cheeks — this isn’t the time to be trendy and bring the colour up to the temples. Think blue-toned, cool pinks, and creamy formulas for an extra touch of dewiness, always a yes!

That after-fight glow

Sabrina Carpenter’s signature when it comes to makeup has to be the ultimate dewy skin. Layers of highlighter are important, of course, but it all starts with a strong base — prep that face, girls. Luminous primers, thick moisturisers, and a glowy finish on the foundation. You’re ready to go!
