Australia’s most laid-back band has kicked off their expansive UK and Europe tour, releasing captivating visuals for their newest single. Rum Jungle, known for their sun-soaked melodies that effortlessly blend surf rock and alt-pop, has become a significant player in Australia’s vibrant music scene. With a devoted fanbase from their first two dynamic EPs, Crazy Days and Sun & Smoke, the four-piece band is poised to make a monumental impact in 2024 with their exhilarating tour and fresh music.
The vivid visuals start with a striking monochromatic palette set against warm, acoustic instrumentals. This quickly transitions to a burst of vibrant colours as the guitar strings twang and the expansive vocals ebb and flow with a nostalgic touch. The alternation between dramatic black and white and eye-popping hues, capturing the band’s raw energy and infectious enthusiasm. In the studio, the four-piece indie band rocks out passionately, playing guitars, drums, and a lively tambourine, all set against soulful vocals. The synergy between the members is palpable as they create a harmonious blend of sound and colour.
Benny delves into the track, commenting “You’d be lying to yourself if there hasn’t been a morning in your life that you’ve not been stoked with the events of the night before or something’s weighing you down and that morning it hits you hard. Mistakes get made, shit goes wrong, everything’s tough for everyone in their own relative state. What this one is about though is pickin’ up and rollin’ on and understanding the world is the way it is, and finding that thing or person or reason to charge on with some sonic stability.” Frazer elaborates, adding “It is with a huge amount of gratitude that we present to you all, a song in which we had the most fun we have ever had whilst recording.”
