The Metropolitan Museum of Art Highlights Jawara Alleyne & More

If you didn’t know already, Monday night saw the opening of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual, much-anticipated exhibition, along with all of the fashionable festivities that follow. This year, the exhibition centred around Black dandyism, through the lens of Monica L Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the styling of Black Diasporic Identity. From the 1700s to today, dandyism is ever-present within Black fashion, with “modern incarnations,” as Miller dubs it (AKA, fashion’s emerging designers), playing on the Black dandy’s attributes through their own design practice. Think: Bianca Saunders, Wales Bonner, Martine Rose, Christopher John Rogers, Willy Chavarria, and Jawara Alleyne. Underscored by his Caribbean heritage, Jawara Alleyne’s carefully crafted design DNA harks to the same storytelling elements of Black dandyism, as the Jamaican-born designer forays around London’s Punk ethos, Rastafarian mysticism, and pirate folklore, within his work. The personal commentary, which manifests within his carefully woven work, is what garnered the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s attention, and what has made him a prominent feature within this exhibition.

Back for her third collaboration with Han Chong and self-portrait, Jisoo stars in the Pre-Fall 2025 campaign, where fashion meets fantasy in a surreal blend of 60s nostalgia and futuristic AI dreamscapes. Shot in Seoul by Drew Vickers, the campaign – aptly titled Dreams of Past Lives – spotlights playful yet polished looks like beaded denim skirts and houndstooth mini skorts, alongside the signature Rattan Bow Basket bag. That’s one more campaign done, another to come soon? We sure hope so.

PUMA and Rombaut Are Back For Round Two

After announcing their collaboration last Paris Fashion Week, PUMA and Rombaut’s partnership has since garnered endless allure, and now the pair are back for more. Extending its Levitation series, PUMA and Rombaut have introduced two new colourways, in black, and medic green. Inspired by PUMA’s hefty archives of 2000s silhouettes, the lace-free sneaker design flaunts a floating heel, as the back of the shoe is separate to the sole – hence the ‘levitating’ feeling. Working in tandem with Rombaut’s commitment to sustainability, the Levitation capsule is wholly vegan, crafted with recycled materials. Whilst we wouldn’t recommend literally trying to levitate in these sneakers, you can wear them knowing you’re not contributing to the climate crisis, which kind of feels as good as levitating, right?

Palace has been adding many strings to its bow, with a slew of collaborations punctuating its mantra, from Vivienne Westwood and Crocs, to Stella Artois. Available from May 9, grab yourself a pair of sunnies, and get lost in the Summer’s heat in style.

MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon’s joining of forces has become unparalleled – with Salomon’s sportswear expertise dovetailing with MM6 Margiela’s innovative design elements, together, the pair have stolen the hearts of the fash pack. Their Spring 25 vision was a testament to this, draped over a colour palette of minty teals and cappuccino beiges, the capsule unfolds into no-gender garments, with a precise attention to detail. With all good MM6 Margiela x Salomon drops, there’s a new shoe to complement the clothing: this time, the team settled on Spectur 2 sneaker in Sea Foam Green, and the XT-Mule in White/Beige Haze. It’s a capsule collection fit for a streetwear aficionado’s dreams, and it’s dropped May 8, in both MM6 and Salomon’s online stores.

Getting beauty-ready with ROKSANDA x & Other Stories

Picture this: the sky is washed in a blood orange, late Summer sunset, morning coffee melts into notes of fresh linen sheets, spending the day strolling through cobbled alleyways in a nook of Europe – Summer has never felt closer than with & Other Stories and Roksanda’s partnership. The Swedish-label, & Other Stories, has tapped luxury fashion brand Roksanda, to ignite its beauty line with Roksanda’s affinity for rich colour palettes, through Founder Roxanda Ilinčić’s feminine lens. The launch presents itself in a lineup of three velvety lipsticks, and three nail varnishes. A berry-toned Dark Orchid lipstick confronts with sumptuous cobalt blue nail colours, as their highly pigmented formulas imbue the face and nails with a much-needed flush of colour, as if you’d just come inside from a busy day sunbathing by the pool. The Collaboration is up for grabs from May 15, both in-store and online.

Bacardí x Coca Cola gears up for cocktail season

As if we didn’t need another excuse to escape into a nearby beer garden and tuck into an ice cold cocktail (or two), Bacardí and Coca Cola have teamed up to make our lives easier – the pair have bottled up their drinks into one, ready-to-drink, can. Marking 125 years of the rum and Coca Cola drinks joining hands into a tantalisingly zesty cocktail, the brands are toasting in style, and inviting consumers to raise a glass as well. Or better yet, raise a can of Bacardí x Coca Cola, perhaps with a squeeze of fresh lime to elevate the cocktail’s twangy, fruity notes. Drink up, drink responsibly, and drink hassle-free with Bacardí and Coca Cola.
