Rashad and Marcus, the founding members of Bungalow Collect, began their vibrant journey together in a Brooklyn apartment aptly named “The Bungalow”. Joined by their talented childhood friends Apollo J and Zay Suav, the group has been on a meteoric rise since forming in 2021. Their distinctive disco-rap sound has electrified renowned stages such as So What! and SXSW, cultivating a devoted fanbase enthralled by their infectious hooks and thought-provoking lyrics. Now, they unveil their first full-length release since 2022’s “Meet Us At The Gate”, a dynamic seven-track album set to cement their status as trailblazers of disco-rap.

With “Disco Rap Saved Me”, Bungalow Collect seamlessly combines their signature sound with a nostalgic yet innovative flair. The album is an exhilarating collection, brimming with tracks like “Take Me Away” and “Standing Room”, where energetic bars collide with vibrant, foot-tapping instrumentals. Rich with textured lyricism, lush harmonies, and moments of autotune-infused vocals, this bold release pushes their artistry to new heights, delivering a mesmerising and unforgettable addition to their growing legacy.

Reflecting on the creative process behind the album and how the group linked up across Europe and North America, the collective shares, “We wrote this album over two years while travelling the world and performing in various cities. Our intention was to bring back the disco while introducing unique flows and ad-libs tracks that reflect a modern flare.

‘You Know I Know’ was created from scratch during a six-hour session in Hamburg, Germany, while ‘Back it Up’ was recorded in Paris, France a few days earlier. We created ‘Normalized’ in New York, while the other 4 songs were started in our LA living room.”
