Tomorrow (15th November), Turkish-Italian DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Carlita will share her long-awaited debut album. Entitled Sentimental, the work looks set to be a soaring amalgamation of genre, tone and emotion, and is set to cement the polymath as one of the finest talents in electronic music. To be unveiled via Ninja Tune, Carlita will also play her biggest ever London headline show at KOKO on the LP’s release day.

To celebrate the release of the album, Wonderland asked Carlita to round up the tracks to influenced the work in our latest On Repeat.

Is one of the 90’s favorites, progressive and uplifting and yet melancholic pads. A ravey journey

Whitest Boy Alive – “Burning”

Erland Oye has always been one of my favourite musicians and you can feel his influences throughout the album.

Kings of Convenience – “Failure” 

Songwriting and harmony masterpiece. Always in love with repeating melodies of this song and the simplicity of the lyrics.

Nu Genea – “Tienaté”

Funky Neapolitan roots that combine hypnotic dance rhythms with Mediterranean and middle eastern string sections. Every musician in this group perform loopy patterns in such a beautiful way.

Lil Louis – “French Kiss” 

A classic that doesn’t take itself too seriously but it’s a masterpiece. The use of drum machines, Bassline and hypnotic drive is incredible.

Sandra De Sa – “Olhos Coloridos”

I am a huge fan of Brazilian music and so are Manfredi and Orofino. The guitars, cavaquinho appear few times in the album.

Toto – “Africa”

80’s pads, and vintage drum machines play a huge role in this album.

Grace Jones – “La Vie en Rose”

Her interpretation transforms the French classic into a sultry and slow burning anthem of passion and love.

Deee-Lite – “Groove Is in the Heart”

An iconic song that blends elements of dance-pop and indie electronica. Upbeat, catchy rhythms and playful lyrics.
