Professionally known as Mild Minds, Benjamin David has firmly established himself as a visionary force in the electronic music scene. Since his debut in 2018 with the mesmerising single “SWIM” and the critically acclaimed album “MOOD”, he has been crafting lush, immersive soundscapes that intricately fuse the rhythmic pulse of house and UK garage with rich, organic instrumentation. Following the release of his atmospheric collaborative project “LUV HRTS” with Victor Pakpour (Ruby Haunt), the launch of his own dynamic record label MOODS INTL., and a string of highly praised singles, Mild Minds unveils an exciting trifecta: a new album, single, and tour. To offer fans a tantalising preview, he has released his powerful new single, “TEARDROPS”.
“TEARDROPS” opens with a striking electronic instrumental and swiftly evolves into an infectious, head-nodding track, elevated by airy, breathy vocals. As the track unfolds, its intensity builds, setting it up as a likely favourite in DJ sets and a surefire hit for warehouse raves. This release provides listeners with an intriguing glimpse into the next evolution of Mild Minds’ sound, heightening anticipation for his upcoming sophomore project, which is set to drop in February, 2025 via ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective.
Delving into the forthcoming album’s themes and focus, Benjamin explains, “The album brings together sounds you would normally hear only in club genres and recontextualizes them, paired with melancholic emotions that one wouldn’t usually hear transcribed by such sounds.”
