A respected and reputable DJ across the worldwide electronic community, Chilean creative Paula Tape has performed at some of the most renowned venues and festivals there is, from Glastonbury to Vent Tokyo, Drumsheds to Kappa Futur Festival. The deeply talented cross-genre artist has shared exciting news of a fresh EP, “Acid Latino”, landing via Future Classic on 20th November, and unveils a first single from the project.
The fresh cut, title track “Acid Latino (Sonido Real)”, is an infectious blend of classic salsa sensibilities, 90s-tinged acid house and off-kilter psychedelic tendencies. It’s a melting pot of the old and the new, whilst strikingly unique to itself. Speaking on the new release, Tape offers, “I’ve always liked salsa piano progression, I find it soulful and rich in groove, one day I was listening to “Bilongo by Fania all-Stars” and I was in a trance because of how the piano moved and sounded, at that time I was working in the studio and I dared to use a Latin piano progression, I was curious to try something similar but in a more electronic key..”
The artist will be bringing her cutting-edge sound to the global stage across the autumn, embarking on a sprawling tour that includes dates in Ibiza and London, Amsterdam and Bali, Sydney and Stockholm.
