Broadly compelling and delicately subtle, Matilda Lyn’s sophomore EP, “Sunwarmed”, is an augmentation of the folk-tinged alt pop she manufactured for last year’s debut project “A Bowl of Unripe Fruit”. This follow-up is Lyn—born and raised in Gothenburg—at her dazzling and heartfelt best, developing her songwriting into a more matured and rounded sphere, cascading in its emotionality, and oft uplifting within such.

The dynamics in this song along with the arrangement with the big drums and more intimate piano parts balancing each other are really cool and something I really like.
Joni Mitchell – “Cactus Tree”
This song never ever gets old to me, Joni’s melodies, and lyricism combined with the acoustic guitar are absolutely amazing and is a huge influence in/on?? my songwriting

This song is so flirty, simple and silly in a great way.
Robyn – “Hang With Me”
One of the greatest pop queens of all time!!!! I think a lot of my melodic language comes from listening to pop music growing up especially Robyn. This one and ”dancing on my own” is to me two perfect pop songs.
Billie Holiday – “Crazy He Calls Me”
I love Billie Holiday and this song is pure feeling and the emotion in her singing is mesmerizing.
Maggie Rogers – “Alaska”
I’ve always loved this song and think it’s really cool that the production is so simple yet interesting. That can be really hard to do but something I also try to achieve when I’m producing my own songs.
Veronica Maggio – “Jag kommer”
Swedish pop at its best.
Paul Simon – “Graceland”
I’m a huge Simon & Garfunkel fan so I was really digging into Paul Simon’s music during this time. For me, its simply just really great songwriting and inspires me very much.
Nico – “These Days”
I remember having this song on repeat every time I was going somewhere during the process of making this EP.
Phoebe Bridgers – “ICU”
Phoebe Bridgers’ way of writing so casually but heart -wrenchingly is super inspiring to me. The whole punisher album is also a huge inspiration production-wise, combining a lot of organic instruments with small weird sounds which I LOVE.
