A COMPLETE UNKNOWN

Timothée Chalamet is Bob Dylan in one of the year’s most awaited biopics — and now we finally have an official first taste of what’s coming our way.

The wait is over! Following months of speculation, sneaky paparazzi shots around New York, and heated internet debates around the production, we finally get an official glimpse of what’s coming next from Timothée Chalamet. The Call Me By Your Name star is now stepping into the shoes of legendary American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan for the upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown, directed by James Mangold, with an official release date yet to be announced.

Earlier this year, the internet was set in hysterics when we saw the heartthrob in character for the first time, sporting a curly 60’s-infused mullet and dressed head-to-toe in pieces that could have been pulled from either the back-of-store basket of a second-hand shop in Brooklyn or Acne Studios’ latest collection. And, of course, with a rugged guitar case in hand. There’s no doubt when it comes to Chalamet’s cinematic offering, but Dylan? Can he pull that off? It seemed like an extremely ambitious long shot. But, well, today everybody can say we’re seated and more than excited for what seems to be coming our way.

Singing one of the greatest musicians of all time’s greatest hits, “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall,” we meet Timothée as a young Dylan, walking around Manhattan, passing by some of the legend’s favourite spots in the city, and getting involved in a love triangle between Monica Barbaro’s Joan Baez and Elle Fanning’s Sylvie Russo, all while being introduced to the fame and success that would soon turn him into the iconic figure that stained the walls of folk music forever.
