Following a recent promotional tour in Latin America, which included captivating and intimate performances on Mexico’s national TV program “Sale el Sol” and live sets at the prestigious Marvin Festival, Taylor strengthened her connection within the genre. This tour helped her latest album, “Colours of Blue”, to transcend traditional ideas of contemporary pop albums, marking a significant evolution in Taylor’s musical soundscape.

In “Colours of Blue”, Riva creates a vivid tapestry, rich with soulful melodies and infused with Latin American rhythms and influences. Blending her love for jazz, bossa nova, and world rhythms with her signature innovative pop sound, the eight tracks emerge as invigorating, compelling, and irresistibly catchy. Polished production provides the perfect backdrop for Taylor’s expansive vocal range, while her engaging lyrics effortlessly transition between English and Spanish, resulting in an authentic sonic experience.

Collaborations add dynamic variety to the project. The lead single, “Outside of Your Heart”, features a mesmerising reggaeton beat and the fiery Spanish verses of British-Colombian artist Lisey Tigra. Riva also collaborates with Ervin River and Los Rumberos on the standout tracks “Colours of Blue” and “Cubano”, respectively.

Speaking on the Latin American influences across the project, Taylor shares, “I wanted to go back to my roots on this album and return to where it all began for me as an artist, exploring sounds that spanned the jazz and soundtrack worlds. After the pandemic, I was ready to shift my perspective as a writer, focusing less on the personal and more on the observational, reflecting on fresh relationships and places. Two years and numerous trips to Latin America later, here is ‘Colours Of Blue,’ a reflective collection of songs inspired by artistic collaboration, exotic places, and new rhythms.”
