Clairo’s back with a bang, FLO’s latest sizzler and Meekz’ assured sophomore mixtape – here’s Wonderlist!

Clairo – “Sexy to Someone”

One of contemporary indie-pop’s most unquestionable players, Clairo has built a stellar reputation in the past five years. She’s now announced news of a third album, Charm, set for release in July and shared its first teaser single. “Sexy to Someone” showcases a matured sound for the singer-songwriter, retaining the naturalistic and intimate charisma of her earlier discography.

FLO – “Caught Up”

High-flying R&B luminaries FLO are back with another swooning sensation. “Caught Up” sees the Brit Award-winning trio in top form both vocally and lyrically, delivering gorgeous harmonies amidst a playful cautionary ale.

Meekz – “TRU”

Manchester’s masked maverick Meekz has quickly risen to one of the UK’s most undeniable rappers. He’s today shared his second mixtape, “TRU”, a project more eclectic and eventful than its still potent predecessor, that bolsters the artist’s attempts to impact the Manchester scene, and further afield, significantly.

Blxst ft. Offset – “Risk Taker”

Grammy-nominated singer and rapper is back with another breezy track ready for summer! The new heater enlists Migos heavyweight Offset for a cut that broadens the style of the West Coast artist, bringing Afro-inspired sonics and vibrant melodic infusions.

Kitty Ca$h – “Handle With Care”

Revered DJ turned producer-artist Kitty Ca$h plays her hand meticulously with her debut EP. “Handle With Care” enlists some major features in Thundercat, Rico Nasty and George Riley, brings kaleidoscopic production, and is just so danceable. The EP is truly a mood.

Common x Pete Rock – “Wise Up”

Hip hop legends Pete Rock and Common have excited old skool fans with the release of a stellar new offering. “Wise Up” sees a throwback sound revisited by the iconic producer and MC, with seamless chemistry emitted from Rock’s rich, textured instrumental and Common’s effortlessly striking wordplay.

Sango – North Vol 2.

Seattle-based DJ and producer Sango furthers his reputation as one of the best beat-smiths around with the release of his North Vol 2. record. The follow-up LP from the 2023 classic North, it sees Sango bring funk and electronica to rap-orientated palettes, an engrossing and endoscopic listen from front to back.

Niko B – “ur a bundle of joy !”

The Gen-Z Mike Skinner is here to stay! Niko B has released his highly-anticipated debut album, dog eat dog food world, and shared a lead single, “ur a bundle of joy !”, a colour-laden, sun-kissed ball of sentiment. The LP as a whole places Niko as a left-field and likeable name in the UK rap and alternative scenes.

Chloé Caillet & Nyra – “Last One For Today”

New York DJ and producer delivers another euphoric house anthem in “Last One For Today”. With a busy summer of festivals ahead, Caillet continues to show why she’s being so hotly-tipped with this fresh Nyra collaboration.

Kasien – “Turn My Swvg On”

London rapper Kasien marks the beginning of his next chapter with “Turn My Swvg On”. After taking a moment to refine the new era of his journey, Kasien captures his signature sonic merging his ability to sing and rap with unpredictable trap-infused sounds which remain key to his artistic DNA. The track see’s him link up with long-term friend and collaborator Kelvin Krash on production as he marks the foundation of his musical plans for 2024.

Lazy Day – “Killer”

Indie-pop emerging gem Lazy Day brings a vocal performance of both authority and intimacy on their latest single. Moody and groove-laden, dreamy and daring, it nestles nicely into the post-Hayley Williams Petals For Amor landscape.

Haich Ber Na – “Sandringham”

Artful indie singer-songwriter Haich Ber Na returns with his first new single in nearly two years. “Sandringham” is light on its feet, hazy and spritely, like the sun peering out from behind the clouds as early evening closes in.

Muni Long ft. Mariah Carey – “Made For Me”

Muni Long’s classic R&B cut “Made For Me” has been doing the rounds this year, and it’s about to get a whole lot more known. Megastar Mariah Carey has graced the cut with her gorgeous vocals, with Long proving equally cascading.

Shy FX & Mr. Williamz ft. Breakage – “Shebeen”

One of the most beloved British music icons who has delivered countless dance music classics, the London legend, Shy FX, continues to prove why he is regarded as one of the most iconic DJ/ producers emanating from these shores with powerful new single “Shebeen” produced in collaboration with Mr Williamz. Opening through pitched up xylophone-infused notes, the track builds tension with Mr. Williamz providing innate lyricism atop slowed percussive elements. Speaking to the power of cultural impact, “Shebeen (feat. Breakage)” further spotlights Shy’s legacy as the Godfather of drum & bass and jungle.

Laicositna – “Hush”

Following two sold-out headline shows at London’s newest venue, The Lower Third – with the first date selling out in two hours — Laicositna, aka Antisocial, continues to garner a huge amount of interest with his unique blend of sonic innovation and languid confident lyrics that has made him one of the most eye-catching new names of 2024. “Hush”, the first single from a series of new releases to come this year, effortlessly displays Laicositna’s distinctive lyricism, outlining a narrative of nostalgia and early personal experiences dipping into fashion, love interests and deeper life experiences alike. The single also comes alongside a sleek official video, shot in the mountains of Greece earlier this year.

Ocean Wisdom ft. K Koke – “No Squids”

A clear marker of his reputation in the scene right now, the rare co-sign from one of the most respected emcees in the UK underlines the influence Ocean Wisdom is accumulating in his dominant return to the landscape this year. Emerging with vibrant strings and rolling percussive textures, the sample works as a sharp backdrop for Ocean to glide over, carrying purities in his cadence to signify a state of growth and reflection in his endless pursuit of solace. “Can’t do road up, you got to change” he pleads before K Koke joins the fold with incendiary bars depicting an inspired soul adapting to life at street level – an impressive character flip from both artists with enigmatic displays of power and vulnerability shining front and centre.

Shivani Day – “Blue Car”

After dropping her debut single “Rhetoric” last month, Shivani Day returns with “Blue Car”, a cinematic offering inspired by TRON and its universe. Shivani took the influences into the Jay Green-directed video that is led by a pulsating ice-blue palette curating a universe that mirrors the track. “Blue Car” was co-produced 23Sunz alongside Shivani who offers full transparency, channelling thoughts self-worth and closure.

Gabzy – “X”

Peckham’s dreamy Alte R&B crooner Gabzy keeps it short and sweet with “X”. Tender, stripped-back, with Gabzy’s autotune’d vocals humming through the serene soundscape, it’s heartfelt and sonically picturesque, a thoroughly enjoyable listen all in all.

Bloom Twins – “Your Type”

Ukrainian-born, London-based sisters Anna and Sonia Kuprienko – or Bloom Twins – are feeling playfully vengeful on their new EP “Your Type”. It’s impressively diverse, especially the distorted 90s-tinged “Pretty In Pink.” A riotous affair.
