ICELAND AIRWAVES

The revered Reykjavik festival have shared the second wave of artists set to perform at this year’s festival, from Overmono to The Vaccines.

Boasting the label of being the world’s most northerly music showcase, Iceland Airwaves mark their 25th year of bringing eclectic and evolutionary music to the festival climate with perhaps their most star-studded line up to date. Set to take place from 7th to 9th November, the winter event is the perfect remedy for those dark, dreary days while we wait for summer to return.

Joining previously announced names like Shygirl, bar italia and Joy (Anonymous) is a plethora of established and upcoming acts set to make the trip north for a performance to remember. Welsh electronic trailblazers Overmono, legendary indie rockers The Vaccines, post-punk outfit English Teacher and polymathic presence Alice Longyu Gao are amongst the names added to the diverse and daring bill.

Ísleifur Þórhallsson, Festival Manager for Iceland Airwaves, offers: “We are incredibly proud to be celebrating not only 25 years of Iceland Airwaves, but 25 years of playing a key part in the careers of some of the world’s most talented artists. Over the years, we have seen many of our Airwaves alumni grow from strength to strength, often developing into some of the industry’s most acclaimed artists. It is an honour to continue to bring new talent to Reykjavík and share our beloved Icelandic community with the world.”
