Marking the beginnings of Fiaa’s solo career, the talented rising star experienced a chance meeting with the acclaimed British singer Rag’n’Bone Man. After expressing her passion for pursuing a musical career, the duo collaborated on the endearing track “One Day,” with proceeds benefiting various children’s charities. Since then, Fiaa’s artistry and career have continued to evolve, performing at key venues in London’s vibrant talent scene and garnering a strong following on TikTok.
Now, Fiaa is gearing up for the release of her eagerly anticipated debut EP later this year, starting with the captivating single “Love War.” Featuring dramatic, electro-tinged pop, the song showcases Fiaa’s expansive vocal range as she delves into the truth behind breaking free from a relationship. Sharing the track’s inspiration, Fiaa explains “’Love War’ is about my best friend who went through heartbreak, his boyfriend was back and forth with him and because he’s the kindest soul ever he would forgive him. I think when we don’t have belief in ourselves and self-worth we allow people to take advantage of us, so I wrote him this song to see if it would help him leave him and it did! He walked out that door and there was no more “like before”…… music can do powerful things.”

Hey Fiaa, how did you get started in your musical career?
I started when I was 2 years old! My guardian was a music teacher, and we would always sing together. I was also a young carer for my mum and we would always sing and write songs together too, it was the happiest moments of life. As my childhood was a little chaotic, I found it was my way to communicate. Singing was also one of my first words!
You worked with Rag‘n’Bone Man in the early part of your career, How did it feel to collaborate with Rag‘n’Bone Man on ‘One Day’?
I felt so lucky, he is a real genuine person and incredible artist, he taught me a lot about song writing and really understood what I wanted to write about, “one day” was about my care experience and it was a song for hope for anyone that has struggled and felt like they don’t belong, that’s why I made it a charity single.
You’ve just dropped “Love War”, what inspired the track and how does it reflect your personal experiences?
Love War is the first of many releases I have. I choose that one because it represents a vulnerable person that is blind to the world and experiences their first love, but that love takes advantage of their innocence. The next songs I release, will take you through the next stages of that same person’s life and creates a mini movie full of the different paths one can take. The song was written about my best friend’s heartbreak, but I can definitely relate to it myself – it’s super pop and you just want to shout the lyrics! It’s my little love chant!
You worked with Jordan Cosmo and Gio Malone on this track, what was it like working with them?
Ah the boys are my best friends and I’m so blessed to work with them, they are fun and so talented, they really have developed me with music and visual arts, they are two of my favourite people in the world! I have made sure we have total equal splits for my releases, which is rare to happen in the industry, but I wanted to show them respect as I would have never have got to this stage without them!
Your debut EP is set to be released soon. How does “Love War” fit into the project?
Love war was my first favourite song that I wrote with Jordan and Gio and we all knew it should be my first single, we felt it was the perfect pop anthem to lead us into the world that I’m now presenting. The next songs are a little darker and mysterious, good-girl-gone-bad vibes, we all have those deeper times where we lose ourselves but that’s how we find ourselves, I feel my purpose in life was to discover that slowly and that’s why I had to go through so much and I want to display that in my art. I really found myself in the recent months more than ever and my final song on the EP talks about that. I’m taking you all on a little adventure.
Who are your biggest musical influences and how have they impacted your sound?
Amy Winehouse is my number one musical influence and in recent years Lana Del Rey, I love how raw and real both artists are, and their lyrics are out of this world clever but deep at the same time. I also grew up listening to a lot of Motown – the soul and passion within this genre makes me feel alive, the artists really had to fight for their place in the music industry and that courage will always have a place in my heart.
You have a great TikTok following; what role has social media played in your musical career and how has it helped your connect with your audience?
It’s changed my life; I wouldn’t be releasing today without it. I had all these songs hidden away for years, I went on Tik Tok 6 months ago and I found my people!! My fifi family, they have encouraged me to follow my dreams and not hold back and they also gave me the chance to be a full-time music artist. People look at Tik Tok and instantly write it off as i guess you really have to showcase your true self on there, I did that for years but if you just let go and enjoy the app it can be magical.
How do you hope your music will impact your listeners and audience?
I just want it to heal people, I want it to give them a sense of belonging and self-worth, I’m showing the deep and light times through my songs so they know it’s ok to go through whatever they are going through and actually it makes us who we are meant to be.
