Last spring, Timothée Chalamet and director Martin Scorsese set the internet abuzz with the release of photos from a (until then) secret film the duo was working on in New York. But now, we have finally got the scoop. The duo is behind Bleu de Chanel’s new film, featuring the Call Me By Your Name star — as his debut as Chanel’s new face — and directed by Scorsese.

The project was “inspired by the magnetic pull and timeless spirit of this fresh, luminous scent.” Scorsese and Chalamet “worked together for the first time ever to create a contemporary picture of free, daring, and determined self-discovery.”

In the film, coloured blue, Scorsese portrays Chalamet as a contrast-filled celebrity trying to figure out his own essence while learning how to navigate fame. “The world has changed. There’s another aspect to celebrity in a way, which is even more extreme than 10 or 15 years ago,” Martin Scorsese says. The (blue) light at the end of the tunnel? Bottoms star Havana Rose Liu.
