Nilüfer Yanya – “Like I Say (I runaway)”

Newly signed to Ninja Tune, the soaring talent of Nilüfer Yanya is back with her first new music since her revered 2022 record PAINLESS. Her return single, “Like I Say (I runaway)” is sparse, intricate and progressive, strummed guitars and off-kilter percussion giving space for a sublime vocal centrepiece, with Yanya spinning a thoughtful and vivd lyrical narrative.

Ezra Collective – “Ajala”

Jazz collective Ezra Collective have transcended from journeymen to industry mainstays, in large part down to their swiftly seminal Mercury Prize-winning 2023 record, Where I’m Meant To Be. They return with their first single since the album’s release, “Ajala” a spritely, superb single that feels celebratory and cinematic, each element of the five-piece excel in their instrumental nuance.

Overmono x The Streets – “Turn The Page”

Following last year’s highly acclaimed debut album, hotly-tipped production duo Overmono are back with a cult favourite release, finally unveiled on streaming platforms. Reworking The Streets’ classic “Turn The Page”, the offering was first heard at Lost Village in 2022, and has since become the stuff of rave legend. Now, at long last, the anthem has finally been fully shared. Just wait for that drop…

Sinéad Harnett – Boundaries

UK-born, LA-based R&B frontrunner Sinéad Harnett has long been one of the most significant artists within her genre; a fact that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon. She’s shared her third studio album, Boundaries, a sprawling and explorative album that sees Harnett dive into more personal topics than ever, facing and accepting her past, healing in her present, and looking into what’s next in the future.

Eliza Rose – “Lovesome”

Hackney DJ and producer Eliza Rose has become a leading name in UK garage and electronic music, cementing her acclaim as one of its brightest stars with her genre-merging new EP, “Business As Usual”. Lead single “Lovesome” is a vibrant, intoxicating outing which comes accompanied by an equally colourful and entertaining visual.

Sad Night Dynamite ft. Yung Kayo – “Godfather”

Always intriguing duo Sad Night Dynamite are known for being gloriously chaotic. Beginning a new chapter in their quickly growing journey, the pair dabble in a myriad of production styles on “Godfather”, haunting, visceral and damn good fun. There’s also a slick feature turn from YSL-signed MC Yung Kayo.

Aitch – “Famous Girl”

Mancunian cheeky chap Aitch returns more boisterous than ever. “Famous Girl” is effectively Aitch listing all the celebrity ladies that he finds attractive, in his own unique and playful manner. It feels like Aitch is the only rapper who could do this. You might recognise the sample too…

Young T & Bugsey – “Rio Grande”

Midlands rap duo Young T & Bugsey have returned to the UK scene with gusto this year, following their comeback single “Been a minute” earlier this month. They’ve shared another new track, “Rio Grande”, sampling Reggae legend Sizzla and both delivering the goods with sharp verses and a memorable hook.

Zsela – “Lily of the Nile”

With a vocal performance of poise, control and beauty, and a sonically immersive and forward-thinking instrumental palette, Zsela’s latest single “Lily of the Nile” is amongst her strong offerings to date. Taken from her June-set debut album, if the rest of the record is as impactful as this cut, it might just be one of the breakout projects of the year.

Mewn – “Ask Me Now”

Avant-garde and musically meticulous, Manchester band Mewn have unveiled their third EP, “Ask Me Now”. A body of work that moves through timbre and rhythm seamlessly, there’s drama and beauty a plenty across the four tracks, a highly confident project from the impressive band.

renforshort – “buried alive”

Plucked from a forthcoming EP, “clean hands dirty water”, indie pop songstress renforshort continues to build hype with the release of “buried alive”. Emotional and elegant, the striped down guitar-driven instrumental gives breathing room for ren’s dazzling vocal performance and personal lyricism.

Pozer – “Malicious Intentions”

Bringing a fresh essence to a drill genre dangling dangerously close to derivative, Pozer is a much needed breath of fresh air. Borrowing from other rap sub-sounds, most notably Jersey club, the Croydon rapper shares his sophomore single “Malicious Intentions”, a cut brimming with clever wordplay and sonic atmosphere.

dust – “Trust U See”

Newcastle post-punk crooners dust have emerged as one of the most provoking and progressive new acts in the genre. Their new single, “Trust U See” is abrasive and off-kilter, with gorgeously harrowing saxophone a standout instrumental inclusion, whilst the vocal performance is characterful and chaotic.

Marie Naffah – “Gloria”

Singer-songwriter Marie Naffah has her debut album, Mother Of Pearl, just round the corner, but for now we’ve been blessed with another subtle and sublime teaser single. “Gloria” is unassuming and patient, allowing Naffah’s songwriting to rightfully take centre stage.

Nardo Wick ft. Future – “Back To Back”

Nardo Wick, aka the ‘Wickman’, has blazed one of the brightest paths and cultivated one of the most exciting discographies in the current US rap scene since he first started making records in 2020. Continuing his chokehold on the landscape, the Jacksonville rapper drops off another explosive single packed with powerful percussive elements and eerie piano notes, making a perfect bed for his menacing bars to float atop. Joining Nardo on his latest offering is US rap stalwart Future — arguably one of the most in-demand artists in the world right now — who drops off trademark bars throughout. Matched with a set of sleek visuals co – directed by Nardo, Ndoh, and Supo Supreme, the Wickman continues to demonstrate why he’s revered internationally as one of the most exciting and innovative rappers in the world right now.

Amen Dunes – “Round the World”

Peerless and cherished singer-songwriter Amen Dunes is releasing his new album, Death Jokes, on 10th May, the follow up to his sensational 2018 record Freedom. He’s offered up a final teaser single, “Round the World”, a sprawling track that, in its over nine minute runtime, takes its listener deep into the sonic and personal process of the artist; a towering effort of subtly and immersion.

Luke Hemmings – “boy”

5 Seconds of Summer frontman Luke Hemmings has fully stepped out of the band’s shadow with the release of his new EP, “boy”. The singer-songwriter offers strong vocal performances, snappy songwriting and ethereal production across the solid and spritely pop project.

Ellysse Mason – “Cry Baby”

Alt pop singer-songwriter returns after a four year hiatus with a new sharpened sound and news of a new project on the way. The comeback single, “Cry Baby” comes with an arena ready hook, a powerful vocal performance and vivid lyricism.

Mackwood ft. Charlie Stacey – “Yella!”

Following work with the likes of Col3trane and Jordan Rakei, drummer and general jazz polymath Mackwood has thrown himself into the solo releasing stratosphere with new outing “Yella!” Enlisting keys player Charlie Stacey for an outstanding contribution, the track is a hazy and colour-laden jazz cut, leaving us excited to hear what’s next from him.

Chloe Slater – “Nothing Shines On This Island”

Announcing her debut EP with a blast, DIY singer-songwriter Chloe Slater has shared a teaser single the forthcoming project. “Nothing Shines On This Island is a stinging punk-infused indie banger full of razor sharp lyrical satire and rousing instrumentation.

Southside ft. Ken Carson & Destroy Lonely – “President”

GRAMMY-nominated, multi-Platinum producer and acclaimed Atlanta artist Southside has unveiled his brand new single “President” featuring two of America’s hottest, Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely, taken from the producer’s upcoming album due for release this summer. The latest offering from Southside sees Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely come together for a powerful track, trading verses atop punchy, trademark percussive elements layered down by the award-wining producer. Paired with an intense black and white animated visuals to match, “President” is the final track taken from Southside’s upcoming album, which boasts already-released tracks such as “Hold That Heat”, featuring Future and Travis Scott, “Gimme Da Lite” featuring Lil Yachty, and Lil Durk’s “Save Me”.
