PEARL – “ORBIT”

The surging British singer-songwriter unveils swirling, captivating new alternative-pop cut, “Orbit”.

Dancing delicately between synth, indie and alternative-pop, PEARL’s debut EP, “Where I Go”, announced her on the scene last summer into a realm of celestial vocals, echoing synths and pulsating beats. Crafting a unique juxtaposition between classically trained vocals and synthetic instrumentals, PEARL creates soundscapes she describes as biophilic, further explaining, “the synths, drums and production are the architecture, and my voice, the organic sounds, and the lyrics are the green and natural elements that run through…I’ve always had an overactive imagination!” Co-written and produced by Josh Oliver, PEARL now releases “ORBIT”, a lustful and energetic new brand of pop from the emerging artist.

“Orbit” injects a lively energy into a new sound, marked by her recently released single “Body Parts”. Opening with swirling synth pads and twinkling, delayed arpeggios, there’s an immediacy to the instrumentation as PEARL’s vocals enter the fray. As the track unfolds and we enter the chorus, PEARL is enveloped by pop sensibilities, with a powerful, soaring performance accentuated by dynamic instrumentation but distinctly PEARL in its delivery.

Reflecting on the track’s romantic notes, PEARL shares “They’re the centre of your universe, but they won’t let you in. Orbiting around their mental health, they keep you at arms length. You’re not going anywhere, you wait for them to let you into their world. Orbit’ is an upbeat and synthy declaration of love and steadfastness in the face of difficult times.”
