“TAKE MY PICTURE”

Danny Ray’s new single (and music video) is a funky, clubby, and tongue-in-cheek reflection on unspoken matters within the creative industry.

What would you give to be in front of the cameras? Well, Danny Ray would give a lot. Or, at least, he wants you to think so in his new music video for the single “Take My Picture,” out today. “[I got inspired by] the endless desire for and pursuit of fame. Because people do silly things for their fifteen minutes. Like when Bear Grylls slept inside a dead camel. How desperate was that?,” he tells Wonderland.

Nodding to the caricature-esque comedy in films such as Napoleon Dynamite and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the music video is a tongue-in-cheek journey through his reflections on unspoken matters within the creative industry. “My creative process is much like Vincent Van Gogh. Make something, and if no one likes it, cut your ear off. For the music video, I really wanted to represent the real me and exactly what I get up to on a daily basis, so the inspiration from films with really sexy and confident protagonists,” he says. Drenched in bouncy bass riffs and atmospheric vocals, the track is clubby, infectious, and a sparky funk-pop number. Once again, Ray sets his foot as one to watch!
