Originally hailing from Buffalo, New York, Movie Monroe is a versatile talent making waves in the rap/hip-hop scene. He burst onto the scene in 2021 with his compelling single “A1” and has since directed his creative energies towards a new project, crafting a unique blend of introspective and vulnerable hip-hop/rap in “A Light Through the Clouds”.

Within this 12-track album, Monroe delves into themes of light and darkness, exploring life’s trials and tribulations. Displaying his adaptability, Monroe effortlessly navigates guitar-centric melodies and steady percussion, notably showcased in the title track. With minimalistic production, Monroe’s lyrical prowess takes the spotlight as he reflects on the joys of parenthood against a backdrop of soothing compositions. Yet, amidst life’s challenges, Monroe introspectively confronts the darker facets of relationships and grapples with the loss of his father in poignant tracks like “Dancing With My Agony” and “A Light Through the Clouds”.

Speaking on the inception and creation of the album, Monroe explains, “This album [A Light Through the Clouds] was recorded in the first 3 months of my daughter being born. It holds a special time, place and energy.”
