Bella Baxter was undoubtedly one of Emma Stone’s most iconic roles to date, scoring a handful of awards — including an Oscar for Best Actress — and a legion of fans. If you wonder how one moves forward from such a standout performance, rest assured that she already has answers. Not too far from Bella’s Frankenstein-esque roots, she teams up once again with Poor Things’ director and long-time contributor Yorgos Lanthimos on a new film, Kinds of Kindness. Margaret Qualley, Jesse Plemons, and Willem Dafoe also join the star-studded cast.

Kinds of Kindness, according to its official synopsis, is a “triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife, who was missing at sea, has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.”

Shot in New Orleans in 2022, the film is already set for release on June 21 in the US and June 28 in the UK. This is the third time Stone and Lanthimos have worked together, following their debut collaboration with The Favourite in 2018 and last year’s Poor Things. Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer also join the crew.
