Fred again.., Lil Yachty & Overmono – “stayinit”

Rap-electronica crossovers are becoming more welcome in the popular music sphere, with one of the strongest examples yet coming in the form of “stayinit”. UK’s poster-boy producer Fred Again.. is known for his exciting use of collaboration, and with this new proves his contact list is unparalleled. Enlisting perhaps the most actively experimental major US rapper in Lil Yachty and production maverick duo Overmono, the new cut is simply sensational; meticulously crafted, sublimely performed, it’s one of the finest tracks of the year to date.

Headie One – “Socials”

One of UK drill’s most esteemed names Headie One has returned with a fresh heater, “Socials”. It’s an energy-fuelled, slick cut that sees Headie bring his best pen game with nifty wordplay and pensive musings alike, as the North London rapper leans ever further into his seemingly limitless artistry.

UGLY – “Shepherd’s Carol”

Fresh from supporting Black Country, New Road on their UK tour, rising Cambridge band UGLY continue to showcase themselves as one of the most captivating emerging acts in the country. Plucked from their forthcoming debut EP, “Twice Around The Sun”, which is set for release in early April, “Shepherd’s Carol” leans into their choral roots, oozing rich textures, distinctive melodic work and a superb vocal performance.

Jordy ft. JME – “Wonderkid”

One of the most prominent new school UK rappers, Jordy, links up with grime trailblazer JME for an iconic link up. “Wonderkid” sees the two generational frontrunners offer assertive, charismatic performances and astute lyricism, combining with effortless chemistry.

Hinds – “Coffee”

It feels like returning Madrid-based duo Hinds haven’t been away. Their first release as the original line up of Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote since their debut single “Bamboo” back in ’14, their comeback cut “Coffee” is a a gorgeous punk-indie cross contamination, instantly memorable, grungy yet vibrant, with a highly likeable vocal approach.

Martial Arts – “Warsaw”

Abstraction and punk merge with “Warsaw” the debut single from Manchester band Martial Arts. Dramatic, cinematic and musically enthralling, the new track is rousing and anthemic yet immersive and introvert, with a cacophony of distortion giving way for an endearingly erratic vocal performance and songwriting acumen.

Chiedu Oraka – “Counselling”

“The Black Yorkshireman” Chiedu Oraka is putting Northern rap on the map. The Hull-native has become known for this vivid storytelling and impeccable technical ability. On route to his debut mixtape, “Misfit”, set for release in April, he shares “Counselling”, a refreshingly vulnerable track that sees Chiedu bring introspective bars and subtly dominating delivery atop an encompassing instrumental palette.

Towa Bird – “B.I.L.L.S”

Hong Kong-born, half-Filipino, half-English singer-songwriter Towa Bird has a knack of unleashing indie-pop anthems. Her latest single, “B.I.L.L.S” oozes a Britpop-esque energy with a modern twist. It’s high-octane yet dreamy, a sure-fire dance-floor hit.

Gabriella Cole – “on track”

A warm, hazy R&B cut elevated by Gabriella’s smooth, dream-like vocals, “on track” instantly defines the newcomer as standout. Bursting with vibrant synths and loose, retro-fitted percussion, the 23-year-old artist delivers a story of empowerment and self-assurance, breezing past the complexities of love and painting vivid silhouettes of ambition and belonging when seeking solace in your creative and ethereal journey. Stitched together by her intimate storytelling and transcendent escapism, Gabriella’s debut single gives a glimpse of both the pure talent and breadth of scope on offer.

Reuben Aziz – “healing”

London-based Reuben Aziz continues his mission to becoming the face of the next generation of UK R&B. Returning with his final single from a trilogy of releases, “healing” captures the rough and smooth emotions that come with being in a relationship. The seamless bond between the self-produced instrumental and vocals create a smooth aesthetic that have helped Reuben establish his own sound whilst simultaneously expanding his audience.

KC Clarke – “With You”

Gliding across psychedelic guitars and heavy-set drum breaks, KC Clarke displays shining authenticity across his new offering “With You”. Bursting with mellow, retro-fitted sound waves, the rising talent effortlessly flaunts his rich vocals with typical finesse. His words paint vivid silhouettes of heartbreak while exploring the ideology of true love and the endless chase that leaves us in a state of wonder – a complex juxtaposition that’s personified across the high-grade music video following a lonesome journey in a vibrant setting.

Griff — “Miss Me Too”

Euphoric, dynamic, and thought-provoking, Griff’s latest single “Miss Me Too” chronicles the artist’s way back to herself after losing her way. With her mesmerising vocals and signature energy, it builds upon a string of releases exploring young adulthood and gaining confidence — including last year’s “Vertigo” and “Astronaut”. On the track, Griff states: “‘Miss Me Too’ is about being stuck in this hollow version of yourself after heartbreak and growing up, and wondering where the version of yourself went that once had faith in the world and love.”

Abby Sage — “Three Floors, Three Doors”

Sex, health anxiety, loneliness, and growing up: Abby Sage’s The Rot is a personal, vulnerable, and powerful coming-of-age debut album. The focus track, “Three Floors, Three Doors”, shows Sage come to terms with the ways past experiences sit inside her present self. “Everything I’ve been taught and have experienced will always live inside of me no matter how badly I want to pick and choose what I keep and what I let go,” she shares.

Bonnie Banane — “Red Flags”

Released alongside the announcement of her forthcoming album, Nini, Bonnie Banane’s new single “Red Flags” is out now! Originally sung only in French and called “Les Signes Avant-Coureurs” or “Warning Signs”, it is an experimental, introspective exploration of self-discovery and revelation. “This song is for those who finally see after being blind for too long,” she shares.

Teezo Touchdown — “Making Flippy Floppy”

Teezo Touchdown’s cover of “Making Flippy Floppy” is the latest single from A24 Music’s Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense. Borrowing its name from Jonathan Demme’s concert film and its 40-year-old accompanying soundtrack album, the project features the likes of BADBADNOTGOOD, Blondshell, girl in red, Kevin Abstract, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Paramore, The National, Toro y Moi, and more. For Teezo Touchdown’s contribution, the artist brings his signature vocals and blend of pop punk, R&B, and rap to the 1983 hit.

Deto Black — “It’s A No From Me”

Her first release of 2024, Deto Black’s “It’s A No From Me” marks an exciting year ahead. Weaving playful, witty lyrics with infectious house/rap beats, the Nigerian artist details her “ick list” with her classic sonic magic. In her own works, it “is a fun song Chi [Virgo] and I created in her living room. We were just being funny and taking the piss out of things we really dislike when it comes to dating men.” “It’s A No From Me” is now with a video directed by Chukwuka Nwobi and co-starring Chi Virgo.

Cat Burns — “alone”

Ushering in a new era for the multi-BRIT-nominated artist, Cat Burns’ moving ballad “alone” is out now. With captivating vocals and even more mesmerising lyrics, the single weaves guitar melodies and uplifting harmonies together for a beautiful and sentimental offering.

Tadhg Daly — “How’s Your Day Been?”

How’s your day been? Ours has been pretty good, thanks to Tadhg Daly’s new release. His first single of the year, the Irish singer-songwriter blends energetic electronics with raw lyricism as he details a story of two emotionally unavailable people falling in love. Speaking on the track, he explains: “It’s a song for anyone that feels like they might be catching feelings for their ‘situationship’ but are too scared to admit it. It’s for anyone that is craving a more meaningful conversation than a token “how’s your day been?” before getting into someone’s bed.”

Bubba Janko — “FACE OFF”

Self-proclaimed as Essex’s most ethereal geezer, Bubba Janko unveils his first fully self-produced single today, titled “FACE OFF”. Drawing inspiration from thrillers such as Face/Off and The Face of Another, he reflects on themes of false personas and identity, exploring how we adopt different metaphorical masks in different social situations to create his most raw and visceral project to date. The track is atmospheric, sensual, and gritty, all while maintaining the signature tongue-in-cheek 80s sleaze of his style.

Nikhil — “See The Patterns”


East London-based artist and producer nikhil is embarking on a new chapter in 2024 with the release of his first single under his new name. “See The Patterns” exudes a laid-back, joyful, and infectious feel, guiding listeners on a sonic journey through soulful harmonies and guitar melodies. “The time just feels right,” he explains. “My new name ‘nikhil’, is a blank canvas for me to build my journey on and something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. To start off the year with ‘See The Patterns’ makes me happy. It’s a warm sounding track with a lot of positive self reflection. It signifies growth to me. It’s also a fun track, I love all the harmonies!”

Sevdaliza — “Good Torture”

Iranian-Dutch singer and songwriter Sevdaliza announced today her first musical offering of the year with the single “Good Torture”, featuring Elyanna. Bringing R&B and Bossa Nova influences to the forefront of their sound, the track feels like a close-to-home creation, a powerful anthem about sabotaged love, written by women for women who have experienced forced control.

August Charles — “I Can See”

Zambia-born, West Yorkshire-raised alt-soul powerhouse August Charles is ready to claim 2024 as his year, announcing his debut EP, “Blessed”, to be released next April. Channelling the spirit of retro soul with a contemporary twist, he gives us a sneak peek into what’s to come with his latest offering, the single “I Can See”, out now. “Blessed is not just a collection of songs, it’s a deeply personal journey through thoughts, emotions, and experiences in love,” he shares, reflecting on the EP. “ I’m inviting listeners to connect with me on a profound level, sharing the vulnerability that comes from self-reflection, and the acknowledgment of life’s blessings.”

Ghanaian musical powerhouse Smallgod unveils today his highly anticipated album, “Bridging The Gap. Enlisting a stellar lineup of collaborators including Black Sherif, King Promise, Ms Banks, Abra Cadabra, and Odumodublvck, the 17-track project is upbeat, energetic, and summer-infused. It marks a dynamic evolution in the artist’s sound, as he incorporates influences from a tapestry of diverse talents and musical backgrounds spanning African, Caribbean, South African, and UK sounds.
