In just a few short years, mon cher has captivated listeners with lush instrumentals and ethereal vocals, crafting dense soundscapes that transport audiences to paradisical realms. Her journey began with a self-titled debut album in 2020, followed by the enchanting “tell me baby” EP in 2022. Now, the talented up-and-comer returns with her latest offering, the dreamy indie-electronic gem “sweet & heady”, where mon cher showcases her introspective and vulnerable sound once again.

The title track and lead single, “sweet & heady,” sets the tone with its atmospheric and thoughtful composition, striking a delicate balance between moody, ambient tones and pulsating percussion that beckons listeners to sway along. Following suit, the second single, “fate”, captivates from its opening notes, gradually building with slow-burning drums to create a dynamic and celestial soundscape that envelops the senses.

Speaking on the “sweet & heady” album, mon cher explains “I wrote this album over the course of 2023, trying to explore all of the love, loss and wanting that I’ve ever experienced. I’m forever trying to get these feelings to sit still for a moment, to encapsulate them, and sweet & heady is an attempt to do just that – a collection of these dreamy, nostalgic, melancholic musings.”
