“My grandad owned a record shop in West London and a lot of artists would come in and out of there. One of my aunts told me that Bob Marley would just be around, casually. He would be at house parties and things that she was at, and it was all very normal. It’s like, ‘Oh yeah, Bob was there with his friends and we hung out, and we spoke and then he left.’ These legendary stories that I’m hearing from my family of Bob and the Wailers, and Reggae artists and people that are so important to our musical culture, just free-flowing as part of my family history, is incredible.”
British-Jamaican actor Lashana Lynch, who stars as Rita Marley in upcoming musical biopic Bob Marley: One Love, is photographed by Adam Whitehead and styled by Koulla Sergi.
