Our girl Taylor Swift stunned on the red carpet in a sparkly green gown, sparking rumours of a potential TV appearance in the pipeline. The singer beamed with joy while posing for photos with fellow stars and friends. Her mood drastically shifted once the ceremony began as the host of the show, Jo Koy, made a joke about her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the NFL. Koy stated, “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.” The camera focused in on Swift, who maintained a poker face, and proceeded to take a sip of her drink. We thought we were finally past the days of award show hosts making digs at Taylor and her love life… smh…

The Barbie Blockbuster

It is only right to follow up Oppenheimer with Barbie, two of the most raved about movies of 2023. Mark Hamill, renowned for his role in Star Wars, a groundbreaking success nearly half a century ago, had the honour of presenting the award to Barbie, the highest-grossing film of 2023. Barbie amassed over $1.44 billion worldwide, making blockbuster history. Margot Robbie accepted the award and expressed gratitude to “every individual on the planet who adorned themselves and visited the greatest place on Earth: the movie theatre.”

“If I don’t win, I’m leaving.”

In a lighthearted moment at the awards, Jennifer Lawrence playfully teased that she would exit the ceremony if she didn’t secure a victory. As her name was announced as a nominee in the “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” category, the No Hard Feelings star glanced at the camera and silently mouthed, “If I don’t win, I’m leaving.” We loved seeing the actress keep things casual and add her infamous touch of humour to the evening.

Last but by no means least, the internet seems to be in hysterics over the glimpse we caught of Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner sharing a kiss at their table. Lip readers have claimed the two are telling each other “I love you”, what are your thoughts? The Wonka star was nominated at the ceremony for his role as the beloved Roald Dahl character Willy Wonka.
