Since their 2002 inception, Yorkshire-born Jamie Irrepressible AKA The Irrepressibles has enchanted listeners with three critically-acclaimed studio albums and a myriad of eccentric collaborations with exciting electronic artists such as Röyksopp. Through a uniquely crafted sound which marries introspective, melancholy orchestral pop with rich arrangements, The Irrepressibles have cemented themselves as one of Britain’s most talented acts. With “Will I Ever Find a Home?”, the group go even further, showing they are unafraid to demonstrate vulnerability and isolation on a rousing, emotional track.
The final song before the band opts for a new direction, “Will I Ever Find a Home?” initially occupies the track with Jamie’s mournful vocals sitting atop a languid piano motif. As the track progresses, the introspective piece rises, giving way to a sense of optimism and a faint hope for the future.
Speaking on the intimate subject matter, Jamie Irrespressible explains the track “ ‘Will I Ever Find a Home?’ expresses the longing to find that someone as a gay man or queer person in these times of fleeting affairs and commercialism where the sense of home with someone to love becomes all too elusive.”
