The collaboration between the artist village of Ruigoord and Snowapple Collective, in partnership with Keri Pickett and indigenous voices from around the world, is nothing short of inspiring. This dynamic collaboration addresses a global crisis, being the water crisis, through a unique and impactful initiative known as “Joyful Action”.

Recognising the urgent need to highlight indigenous voices for environmental justice, Ruigoord and Snowapple invited water protectors from Brazil, Mexico, Turtle Island/USA and Chile to participate in an artist residency. We are facing worldwide environmental problems, a direct threat for indigenous communities, their land and their water. More than 120 individuals, including wisdom keepers and activists, came together to create the powerful “Water Song”, a testament to the belief in the transformative power of art and music.

The accompanying music video, skillfully crafted by the award-winning Keri Pickett, beautifully captures the intimate and stunning creative moments of the residency. In a world constantly trying to fight for environmental concerns, Ruigoord and Snowapple’s collaboration stands out as a beacon of hope and positive action.
