JAEGER-LECOULTRE

Countdown to Chinese New Year with the Maison’s new tribute timepiece, in honour of the zodiac year of the Dragon.

Sure enough, your calendar is etched with countdowns aplenty for the next month. But hold a beat, there’s one you’re missing: Chinese New Year, and just exactly how to celebrate it. In honour of the zodiac year of the Dragon, Jaeger-LeCoultre pays homage to the fiery creature with the Reverse Tribute Enamel ‘Dragon.’

Holding a spotlight to the Year of the Dragon, the master watchmakers render the curving arcs of these risk-born creatures on the Reverso’s signature case, that swivels to and from sight. Conceived by the enamellers and engravers in the Métiers Rares™ atelier at Jaeger-LeCoultre, the dragon motif is conjured to the surface through a mirage of golden clouds, engraved into a pink gold metal, and Grand Feu enamel (the art of fusing glass to metal).

Gently articulated with black rhodium and sandblasted clouds, the Dragon, a legendary creature of folklore, unafraid of challenges, is personified through its design, which required an unparalleled accuracy in order to preserve the enamel. Thus, using 10 different sized chisels, the dragon was bequeathed to life through 80 years of dedication.

And much like a dragon twists and turns its serpentine figure, this stellar Reverso revolves to reveal an enamel as the case-back, appliqué hour-markers, chemin de fer minutes track and elegant Dauphine hands, enamored since the 1930s.

With a 42 hour power reserve, a black alligator strap, the Reverso Tribute Enamel is emblematic of the Maison’s commitment to bringing culture and further creativity to the possibilities of the watch. Here, it is courageous, tenacious and intelligent, proving that at Jaeger-LeCoultre, such possibilities for a watch truly are endless.
