SKEPTA’S BIG SMOKE FESTIVAL 2024

The UK legend and his label have announced a debut festival, which will be the rapper’s only UK performance next year.

A tycoon of the UK’s creative zeitgeist, Tottenham legend Skepta has made significant impact in an array of artistic fields. An epitome of polymathy, the Mercury-prize winning rapper, producer, designer, director and grime icon has been expanding his reach and fulfilling his vision over the past few years.

August 2022 saw Skepta and his grime contemporary Jammer launched their label, Más Tiempo, hitting the festival circuit throughout the summer gone-by and unveiling some unique and well-crafted production gems, including a recent homage to Amy Winehouse, “Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute To Amy).”

The latest piece of Skepta’s puzzle towards supremacy, Big Smoke Festival is coming! Set to take place at Crystal Palace Park on Saturday 6th July 2024 in collaboration with Festival Republic, the performance will be the only chance for fans in the UK to witness the artist perform on home soil. There will be two open-air stages curated by Skepta and Big Smoke, which more acts due to be revealed soon – expect heavy hitters and promising newcomers alike!

Speaking on IG live, Skepta announced, “I’m gassed to finally announce that Big Smoke Festival is official. I’m so excited, it’s been a wild one to do this. I just want to say thank you to all the supporters, it’s been a couple years that you didn’t see me on a stage..I know a lot of people have been wondering when they’ll see Skepta at a festival and I really wanted to save all that energy and put it into something that was for us, by us. There’s going to be a live stage all your favourite acts – anyone you know that’s affiliated with Skepta. There’ll be a live stage on one side and the Más Tiempo stage which will also be a full lineup. I might bust up one stage, fly over to the other one and link with Jammer. It’s gonna be crazy.”
