LORD APEX FT. FREDDIE GIBBS – “PHOENIX”

The West London cavalier shares visuals for the slick Freddie Gibbs featuring standout from his debut LP.

Rising from the underground of UK rap into a position of prominence amongst the wider scene, West London rapper Lord Apex has mastered his craft and is now receiving the flowers that have been well overdue.

Earlier this month, Apex unveiled a long-awaited debut studio album. The Good Fight is a fearless, innovative and exploratory body of work that illustrates the unique and boundless of talent of Apex in the clearest, most cohesive manner to date, with huge production credits like Madlib, and features from household names like MAVI and Greentea Peng.

Apex now unveils visuals for “Phoenix”, a superb cut that features perhaps the most exciting feature on the whole tape in Freddie Gibbs, who the London spitter has previously supported on tour. The track’s instrumental is produced by Argov, who provides a hazy soul-laden backdrop for the two rappers to spar atop of, both producing the goods with lyrically-vibrant bars and seamlessly charismatic performances.

We premiere the new visual accompaniment, an entertaining and expertly crated animation augmentation of the track.
