Musician, producer, engineer, and music director Milan Ring is a multi-faceted leading force in Australia’s R&B scene. In addition to her 2021 debut album, I’m Feeling Hopeful, she has worked with the likes of Questlove, DRAM, Chance the Rapper’s group The Social Experiment, Sampa The Great, and more — solidifying her power and expertise in solo projects and collaborations alike.

The first solo release since the 2021 project, Ring’s new single “Mangos” comes with a glorious visual. The perfect track for the Southern Hemisphere summertime, it is an ode to a summer fling and feels as atmospheric as a gleaming, warm daybreak. “‘Mangos’ started from an instrumental, drumless sample that 18YOMAN and I had created together,” she explains. “Then, when I was away on a little solo summer retreat in Australia, I produced the beat, added in the Guzheng, the guitars and the rest of the song unfolded very quickly.”
