UNUSUAL DEMONT — “ALL THAT U WANT”

Incorporating bold flavors of alternative hip-hop, and smooth melodic R&B, the Winsconsin-born unveils a heartfelt new single.

“I never wanted to move from home,” starts Unusual Demont, talking about the inspirations behind his newest single, “All That U Want.” “I left my support system in Wisconsin. Full of family, friends, and loved ones. Scared to death. I was living in spite of myself to ‘become better.’ A phrase used by people whose ideals of happiness weren’t my own. I slept in cars. On studio couches. And in the homes of kind friends. I had a lot of sessions during this time period. This is one of the songs that came from them,” he shares. The track is a reflective and thoughtful song, tailored to make audiences question what it is that you want from life, incorporating crisp vocals to bold flavors of alternative hip-hop and smooth melodic R&B.

Alongside the single release, Unusual Demont has brought out a music video, inviting us into a complex sonic-cinematic experience. “The visuals represent a time of instability and uncertainty in Demont’s life, where he felt like all he really had was the music he was making,” shares Nicole Blue, the video’s creative director. “The performance driven video is filled with aspirational shots that hint at his dreams of one day commanding a spotlight, juxtaposed with the realities of the raw and unpolished garage set up. We see him playing drums for the first time as a nod to his grandfather; going back to his roots as well as showcasing his multidimensional musical talents. We shot this video with just a flashlight, a dslr, and the support of community that believes Demont’s story is one worth telling.”

The track is part of Unusual Demont’s upcoming project “Chrysalis”, giving us a taste of what’s to come in his artistry.
