MER — “MAYBE I’M THE SAME”

NYC-based singer and songwriter Meredith Marcum unveils an intimate and heartfelt musical project with the release of her second EP.

Texas-born Meredith Marcum, aka MER, is counting down to the release of her upcoming second EP, “Maybe I’m The Same,” on the 29th of September. Influenced by the artists she grew up listening to, from Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles to Nora Jones, as well as a new generation of folk/pop sounds such as Faye Webster and Dijon, MER has sculpted a unique sonic essence that is now translated in this new project.

Making waves in the New York indie scene, she has received praise for her intimate lyrics, lush harmonies, and catchy melodies underscored by complex production. Now, she’s ready to present her new EP to the world. According to MER, “the EP explores themes of loneliness and self-perception and facing the sobering truths in your life. I wrote this whole project while I was completely alone for seven days in Monterey, California, while I was struggling with feelings of inadequacy and trying to figure out who I am as an individual and where I am going in life.”
