PREMIERE: ASHTON NYTE – “HORSES”

The South African-born polymath unveils the latest teaser single and accompanying video from his forthcoming album.

Described as “Johannesburg’s Bowie” for his widely varying musical styles and theatrical performance approach, South African-born singer-songwriter Ashton Nyte has always created a multilayered experience around his music.

Following the release of his two previous singles “Something Beautiful” and “Cinnamon”, Nyte has now shared a third single entitled “Horses” paired with a self-directed music video.

The track is a honest and refreshing speech which explores the theme of personal growth by choosing a different path, as Nyte explains; “‘Horses’ is about finding the courage to let go of aspects of our lives to allow space for new chapters and the healing that brings. It’s also about recognising the perils of the modern world and celebrating the freedom of choosing a different path. And the video allowed me to join and leave the circus – both recurring life goals.”

The song, part of the forthcoming 11-track Autumn’s Children album, creates a potent yet delicate narrative, which gently allows you into the character’s intimate thoughts.

Like its predecessor, the album, set for release on 25th August, is also paired with a book of short stories to explore the themes of his music.
