Burna Boy – “Big 7”

Award-winning superstar Burna Boy soars to new heights with his eagerly awaited single “Big 7”, signalling the arrival of his seventh studio album, I Told Them…, out worldwide on August 24th. “Big 7” enchants with its melody, reflecting on Burna Boy’s ambition to reach greater heights in his career and personal life. The captivating official music video, directed by Benny Boom, features appearances from music icons like Rza and Busta Rhymes. Burna Boy’s latest offering further solidifies his every-growing legacy within the afro-beats scene – a track that will be streamed indefinitely.

Travis Scott – UTOPIA

One of US trap’s founding fathers, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA has been undoubtedly one of the most anticipated rap albums of the year. Featured-filled, ominous in tone and well crafted in its compositions, it’s a stellar effort, although perhaps a bit bloated, that reinforces Scot’s legacy as one of the most individual and influential artists in of the modern age.

Ama Lou — “Silence”

North London singer-songwriter Ama Lou has released her new single, “Silence”, and it is an atmospheric, enchanting glimpse into her highly anticipated forthcoming debut album. Moody, mystical, and strong, her introspective lyrics and powerful vocals command attention for the full duration of this track. Out with a music video directed by her sister, it’s an impeccable followup to May’s “CAUGHT ME RUNNING.”

Denzel Curry – “BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ”

One of US rap’s modern greats, Denzel Curry is unique, characterful and technically superb, showed in abidance on last year’s critically heralded Melt My Eyez, See Your Future. His first solo release of the year, “BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ”, is a thumping, visceral cut that sees Curry nonchalant but focused in his delivery and vivid in his lyricism.

Jungle – “Back in 74”

As they build steam ahead of their forthcoming fourth LP, Jungle have released a special interactive video in collaboration with WeTransfer. Set in an art gallery, viewers can download the artwork on the walls, with each different viewing of the video offering new original art, making every time watching the visual a unique experience. The track? Well, it’s Jungle, so of course it’s excellent. Check it out here.

Jianbo – “Play Your Part”

Rising out of the fruitful UK alternative rap scene, Chinese/Vietnamese-British rapper Jianbo is a slick, striking presence on the mic. HIs newest single, “Play Your Part” sees the artist flaunt his charisma atop an immersive Congee-produced beat, with vivid, playful lyricism and sharp flow and commanding delivery.

Blanco – “Brilliant Mind”

“Brilliant Mind” comes as Blanco’s fourth official single ahead of the Kennington talent’s highly anticipated forthcoming mixtape Rebourne. Sleek instrumentals in the form of brass notes and rhythmic percussive elements introduce the track in style before Blanco delivers his trademark lyrical deftness and smart wordplay throughout. Proving to be a more laidback offering from the Kennington-native, “Brilliant Mind” showcases the youngstar’s versatility and ability in serving up some of the freshest and innovative rap music coming out of these shores.

kid apollo ft. dexter in the newsagent — “fantasie”

Brixton trio kid apollo has a new single, “fantasie”, featuring fellow South London artist dexter in the newsagent. The luscious alt-R&B, lo-fi pop track comes from kid apollo’s new 5-track EP, In Your Own Right, and is an insightful look into the effect of distance between two people. Atmospheric guitars, punchy bass, and a Jersey club beat weave together in perfect harmony as the captivating vocals rise on top. It is accompanied by a self-directed video which chronicles the artists’ journey building a motorbike in one day — a subtle nod to Frank Ocean’s Endless.

Kota The Friend – “NYC Summer Pack ’23”

Exploding into the summer with his just-released studio project Protea, Brooklyn’s Kota The Friend flexes a high-calibre creative output across his latest 3-track offering. Painting vibrant silhouettes with his intimate storytelling, Kota is fully immersed in a field of psychedelia, floating in sublimity through harmonised chords and mellow house textures while championing empowerment and a sense of bliss when exploring self-enlightenment. Having just announced a blazing headline tour across North America, Kota The Friend continues to define himself as one of the most recognisable names across the rap landscape.

Len x Unknown T – “NIKO BELLIC”

South London rapper Len arrives with the highly anticipated LEHGOLAND project. Spanning 16 tracks that weave a sonic tapestry of Alté, Hip-Hop, House, and Hyper-Rap, Len’s new project promises a thrilling rollercoaster infused with his rebellious and magnetic flair. A standout moment on the project is “NIKO BELLIC” featuring Unknown T which sees both artists trade potent verses over an intense production that seamlessly blends different genres and pushing musical boundaries.

nayahlone – “stratford girl”

Building momentum as one of the most intriguing and naturally reactive artists in the scene right now following his semi-viral track “sex on fire”, and recent guest appearance on BBC RADIO 1XTRA’s Casskidd’s Jersey Club Special, nayahlone delivers his brand new single “stratford girl”, showcasing the Lewisham-native’s evolution as an artist and setting the stage for his upcoming project top shelf weirdo, due December 2023. The London-based talent delivers raw, anecdotal tales that immediately define his talent — his low tone and seemingly ambivalent cadence luring the listener in only to stun with meaningful wordplay. Sitting over an atmospheric yet catchy instrumental packed with punchy percussive elements, “stratford girl” offers a glimpse into his evolving artistry.

Trippie Redd – “Last Days”

In a single that teases his forthcoming album A Love Letter To You 5, Trippie Redd doesn’t disappoint with “Last Days”. The dreamy production from Zodiac and PAX – which was first previewed in October of 2022 – is a perfect sounded for Trippie who yearns for one last night with his significant other half. With the album just under a week away, we can expect themes of love through smooth hip-hops flows backed by iconic samples and beats that have helped him become one of Spotify’s Top 50 Most Streamed Rappers.

Bea Anderson ft. Jords – “Astronomical”

Bea Anderson is a London-based contemporary r&b and soul artist whose music explores themes of introspection and resilience through her adept heartfelt vocas and stirring penmanship. Recently, she has embraced visibility, using her music to inspire others in finding their own strength in vulnerability. Her latest single “Astronomical”, featuring Jords, blends captivating r&b and smooth hip hop undertones to create a groove-infused love story. Produced by Jarom S’ua and written by Bea and Jords, the song is a dialogue between two lovers focused on giving rather than taking. Out now, Berlin-based electronic band KitschKrieg’s “Dance” is the lead single plucked from their album German Engineering 1. Blending R&B, rap, and dancehall soundscapes, the track is a collaboration with Stefflon Don, Nemzzz, and Skillibeng — showing all artists at their best. Smooth, sultry, and strong, it’s on repeat already.

Kasiika — “Summer Love”
