LYLE & SCOTT: KITS FOR CLUBS

The lifestyle brand launches its trailblazing football initiative, a continuation of their support for the grassroots game.

Iconic lifestyle brand Lyle & Scott have long since been a staple of British fashion, from humble beginnings on the Scottish border to a heritage of 150 years. It comes, then, as exciting news to hear of their biggest brand initiative to date in the form of Kits For Clubs. The new campaign is a global push in support of grassroots football; paying tribute to its historic synergy with football, Lyle & Scott will be suppling free, vintage football kits to small and amateur teams across the globe.

As the funding gap between the grassroots and professional levels increases further, the esteemed brand have recognised the significance of the game at all levels, both as a source of entertainment and its cultural dynasty. Aimed to support teams through a time of financial hardship, the innovative initiative welcomes clubs of all sizes – from five a side, to pub teams and freestylers – to apply for a complimentary kit, removing the sizeable expense ahead of the forthcoming season.

On the launch of Kits For Clubs, Lyle & Scott’s Brand and Marketing Director, Ben Gunn, explains, “I am so proud of this initiative, and I know first-hand how tough funding and support at grassroots is. Football is a common language the world shares and is an important part of Lyle & Scott’s 149 years of history. From the terraces to the pitch, Lyle & Scott’s Golden Eagle is recognised the world over. Our new Kits for Clubs initiative will take some of the financial barriers away from grassroots football by offering to supply free football kits to amateur teams globally. Football shirts are a powerful thing and being fortunate enough to play and enjoy watching football throughout my life I associate important life lessons and memories with different football kits.”

Continuing to be an avid support of footballing culture, this campaign is a testament to the commitment of Lyle & Scott to lift community and sport.
