JoyRukanza has been crafting her artistry since her teenage years. From leading her high school choir to releasing her first singles in 2021, “Queendom”, “New Day”, and “Roses”, her commitment and passion for music has never wavered. Garnering a loyal fanbase who connect deeply with her honest, compelling storytelling, she has quickly skyrocketed in the public eye. Now, she solidifies her place in the industry with her long-awaited debut album, MatterMoreForSis.

MatterMoreForSis chronicles a story of unrequited love, with each track representing a different stage of the emotional, raw journey. At its heart, the project is an empowering reminder to prioritise your own happiness and never lose sight of your own self-worth. 11 tracks long, the album is a comprehensive depiction of growth, with a plethora of ballads, upbeat offerings, and heartbreak anthems. Out now with the brand new single “Survive The Night”, MatterMoreForSis is one of a kind.

Speaking on the project, JoyRukanza says, “Through this album, I appeal to women to find the strength to abandon unfortunate situations, take inventory of what matters to them, and prioritise that. I’m simply saying matter more for yourself, sister.”

When she isn’t crafting music, JoyRukanza champions education for female students in impoverished Zimbabwean communities and free transportation for schoolchildren. Mirroring the global impact she has with her music, this work has a real impact on those she helps. A force in this world, JoyRukanza has a powerful voice and uses it for good.
