Speaking on the track himself, James explains, “I believe God puts people in our life and works through people to help us on this crazy journey. I’m thankful I have so many amazing people in my life, but in the song ‘Beautiful Soul’, I’m thanking the Lord for one specific person and that’s my wife, Chelsea. She has been a rock and a shining light in my most shaky and dark moments. These days I find myself more thankful than ever. This single comes ahead of his highly anticipated album, Found My Way. The deeply personal project will be out on September 8, and Jo will be celebrating at none other than Antone’s in Austin. On the album, he shares, “My life has not been easy, but the scars that I have are a reminder that I survived, so now I will thrive. That is why I wrote this album. It is an album about my story from death to life, darkness to light, and how I found hope when I was on the edge of hopelessness and ready to give up. That’s why I refer to the sonic sound of the album as a gritty blues club on a Saturday night, and a gospel church on a Sunday morning. If I can explain my life in a sound, that would be it. My inspiration for this album was to make something that people can find hope in, find life in. It is a message of hope, truth, and love, packaged in a bluesy, soulful sound. When I was looking for a studio to record this album, I wanted it to fit the vibe of my story, I wanted it to make sense and inspire us to tell this story musically.”
